“YOU BRING CHARM TO THE WORLD — The 18th Global Chinese Awards” Concludes in Beijing

The 18th Global Chinese Awards concluded in Beijing at the Phoenix Center on August 12. The ceremony honored several prominent figures in Chinese culture and science. Academician Zhang Boli of the Chinese Academy of Engineering received the Global Chinese Lifetime Achievement Award. Actress Sylvia Chang was presented with the Global Chinese Special Tribute Award. Other recipients included Academician Pan Jianwei, Lu Chaoyang, Professor Cai Gao, freestyle skier Xu Mengtao, Professor Gao Du, and actress Xin Zhilei.

Phoenix TV Chairman Xu Wei emphasized the responsibility of each generation, noting that the older generation worked hard while the younger generation embraces innovation and cultural exchange. The ceremony opened with a children's picture-book theatrical performance based on works by award-winning illustrator Cai Gao, who received the Hans Christian Andersen Award for Illustration in April. Cai expressed deep love for Chinese culture and dedicated herself to creating art inspired by it.

Chinese freestyle skier Xu Mengtao thanked the audience and mentioned her 24 years of competing in snow sports. Actress Xin Zhilei appreciated the phrase "YOU BRING CHARM TO THE WORLD," stating that everyone should be proud of their unique qualities and contribute to the beauty of the world. Lu Yang, director of Brotherhood of Blades II: The Infernal Battlefield, expressed hope for continued collaboration and the creation of more outstanding Chinese-language stories.

Gao Du, a renowned folk dance creator, shared his experiences traveling across China to learn and preserve traditional dances. He aims to bring these cultural treasures to the world, fostering dialogue among different cultures. Xu Mengtao, recipient of the Global Chinese Award, expressed her dedication to perseverance and dedication, hoping to create extraordinary achievements in the future.

Sylvia Chang, a celebrated Chinese-language singer, hopes to use music to promote peaceful communication and shared gratitude with others.
