Nearly 11 years after the 2015 boxing match between Terrel Williams and Prichard Colon, the latter has passed away at the age of 33. Colon's father confirmed his death on Facebook, expressing gratitude for the support his family has received. The tragic incident has once again drawn attention to Terrel Williams, the boxer who faced Colon in the Fairfax, Virginia bout.

The fight in question took place on October 17, 2015, with both fighters being undefeated at the time. However, it became controversial due to repeated complaints from Colon about illegal punches to the back of his head. Williams was penalized several times, while Colon was deducted points for a low blow. In the ninth round, Williams knocked Colon down twice, leading to Colon's corner mistakenly removing his gloves, thinking the fight was over. Unfortunately, Colon was disqualified for not answering the bell.

The most devastating aftermath occurred after the match when Colon experienced severe brain trauma in the dressing room, requiring emergency surgery. He spent 221 days in a coma, which ultimately ended his professional boxing career at just 23. Post-recovery, Colon faced profound disabilities and needed extensive care. He died on August 13, 2026, almost 11 years after the life-altering fight.
