Bryan Kong, host of podcast Let’s Get It, expressed his desire to continue providing a platform for individuals from diverse backgrounds and political affiliations, despite recently being detained. Speaking through a video recorded for the podcast, Kong stated that while it is unclear if he will continue inviting guests with differing political views, he believes it is justified to give space to those with diverse political opinions, regardless of whether he agrees or disagrees with their ideas or perspectives.

Kong, along with co-producer Shamsul Saad of The Gut Shot podcast, was detained on August 6 following an investigation into Episode 141 of Let’s Get It. Assistant Commissioner of Klang North Police Chief Ramsay Embol stated that both were detained in connection with a police report concerning video clips depicting their discussions on secularism and liberalism. According to him, they were interrogated for hate speech, making statements that could incite public panic, and offending religious sensitivities.

Kong clarified that the episode of the podcast that led to the police report is still accessible online, while maintaining that he did not commit any wrongdoing. "I invite you, sir, to share about your background, personal history, experiences as a Malaysian child, and your view of our nation," Kong said. He added that they only managed to point out the specific portion of the podcast episode that caused the issue, aside from questioning whether the podcast incites violence or attacks the armed forces.
