Uttar Pradesh: Ayodhya Sawan Jhula Mela Begins August 15 With 6 Zones, 29 Sectors And Extensive Security Plan

Ayodhya's Sawan Jhula Mela commenced on August 15 and is set to run till August 28, spanning six zones and 29 sectors. The event's inauguration took place at Maniparvat, where Bhagwan Ram and Sita engaged in Jhula Vihar. The administration and police, under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's guidance, have diligently prepared for the fair, dividing the Maniparvat Mela into one zone and five sectors.

Police patrolling will be conducted in two shifts, with a dedicated Mela Duty Office at the Irrigation Dak Bungalow in Nayaghat. Security measures include the presence of Additional Superintendents of Police, constables, women personnel, PAC, RAF, ATS commandos, SDRF teams, and drone surveillance focusing on Maniparvat. For the first time, Bhagwan Jhula Bihari will be taken to Kuber Navratna Tila for Jhulan Vihar, where a swing has been installed for devotees.

The Sawan Jhula Mela, an ancient tradition, commemorates the swinging of Ramlalla Sarkar and his siblings by their mother and queens during the Sawan month. The administration has ensured meticulous traffic management, crowd control, and emergency services during the fair.
