Unforgetful is a new app from the creator of Overcast that enhances Apple Reminders

Apple developer Marco Arment has introduced a new app called Unforgetful for iPhone, iPad, and Mac. The task-management app is tailored for users who have difficulty keeping track of reminders. Unforgetful focuses on persistent notifications, flexible snoozing, and a simple interface. Arment developed the app to tackle three issues in Apple's Reminders app: tasks without alerts can vanish, dismissed notifications don't return, and the available snooze options don't suit his requirements.

Unforgetful doesn't replace Apple's Reminders system; instead, it operates alongside it, utilizing the same data. Users can continue creating tasks with Siri and switch between Unforgetful, Reminders, and other compatible apps without any data migration. The app can send repeated notifications until the task is marked as completed or deleted.

It also avoids features like folders, tags, overdue labels, and other organizational layers that may cause tasks to be overlooked or judged. Additional features include widgets, Lock Screen controls, and Control Center controls. Unforgetful can also space out notifications when multiple tasks are due simultaneously, skip over missed backlogs for recurring tasks, and delay location-based reminders until a few minutes after arrival.

These features address some of the basic shortcomings of Apple's Reminders app. Unforgetful is available on the App Store and requires a subscription after a one-month free trial, with a single subscription covering all three platforms.
