Unai Hernández, reinforcement for the midfield

Girona FC and Al-Ittihad FC have agreed to a loan deal for midfielder Unai Hernández for the remainder of the season. The 21-year-old Spanish player, born on December 14, 2004 in Malgrat de Mar, returns to the club he previously trained at. After beginning his football journey at Olímpic Malgrat School, Hernández progressed through Girona's youth ranks, playing for the club's Aleví category for seven seasons.

At the age of 16, he was called up to the reserve team, and later trained with the first team in December 2021. In January 2022, he became a part of the squad that traveled to play against Huesca. Since then, he has also played for FC Barcelona's reserve team, making his debut in a preseason match against Vissel Kobe in Japan. In his time with Barça, Hernández has developed excellent ball control and a formidable ability to drive the ball forward.

He is known for his technical skills and ability to outmaneuver opponents in tight spaces. Currently, he is being loaned out to Al-Ittihad in the Saudi Professional League, where he has already made nine appearances and scored one goal. Prior to this stint, he played for Al-Shabab on loan.
