TUC Chair, Osifo, Praises DSS For Arrest, Prosecution of Terrorists, Bandits

Festus Osifo, the Chairman of the Trade Union Congress (TUC), has expressed his appreciation for the Department of State Services (DSS) in their efforts to arrest and prosecute terrorists and bandits across Nigeria. Speaking in Abuja on Tuesday, Osifo emphasized that these arrests and prosecutions are sending a strong message to criminal elements who terrorize communities throughout the country. "When they are arrested and prosecuted, the bad guys get the clear message," he stated.

Osifo supported the DSS leadership's stance that terrorists and bandits, whose actions have led to the loss of human lives, should face the death penalty. He believed that such punishment would act as a deterrent to other criminal elements. "When that is done, the other bad guys will know it is no longer business as usual," Osifo remarked.

The TUC leader urged the DSS to maintain the momentum of arrests and prosecutions, highlighting that citizens have a responsibility to hold the government accountable in all aspects. "When government does wrong things, we condemn them. When they do positive things, we are also duty bound to commend," he emphasized. Osifo praised DSS Director-General, Oluwatosin Adeola Ajayi, for the ongoing reforms within the Service and called for more action in combating insecurity across Nigeria.
