Trump asks Supreme Court to intervene in White House ballroom legal fight

The Trump administration has petitioned the Supreme Court to intervene in a legal dispute over the construction of a new 90,000-square-foot ballroom at the White House. This request followed a federal appeals court ruling that the project required congressional approval, which the White House claims it lacks. Solicitor General D. John Sauer argued before the court that the injunction halting the construction should be halted as any delay could threaten President Trump's safety.

The overhaul of the East Wing includes a secure ballroom, underground bunker, medical facilities, and other features. The project is currently 65% complete and the court decision to halt construction was seen as unjust and unlawful by the president.
