Troye Sivan Taps Nicole Kidman to Be His Music Video Vixen for ‘She’s the Best’

Australian pop star Troye Sivan has enlisted Oscar-winning actress Nicole Kidman to appear in the music video for his latest single, "She's the Best." The 59-year-old Kidman was spotted in the video, dressed in a black leather dress, sunglasses, and a sparkling fringe jacket, while smoking a thin cigarette and strolling down the streets.

Fans were initially taken aback by Kidman's unexpected inclusion, but many praised her choice, with one YouTube commenter stating, "Nicole Kidman in a Troye Sivan video was not on my bingo card but I really love it."

Kidman's appearance was not the only notable cameo in the music video, as former "RuPaul's Drag Race" winner Sasha Colby also made an appearance. Sivan's music video was directed by Gordon Von Steiner, a frequent collaborator of the musician who previously worked on his 2023 visuals for "Rush," "Got Me Started," and "One of Your Girls."

The song "She's the Best" is set to be released as part of Sivan's fourth studio album, which is scheduled for release this October. The album features tracks penned by Sivan himself, along with contributions from George Daniel, Jack Antonoff, Leland, and Kaeyln Behr. The production was handled by Styalz Fuego, alongside Sivan, Daniel, and Antonoff.

In a statement to media, Sivan described "She's the Best" as a "painting that captures my life in all of its moods and colors." The track explores the highs and lows of the past few years, as well as the solitude and longing that accompanied them. Sivan expressed that the song encapsulates the chaotic, layered, organic, and troubled nature of his life, while also being "alive and true to the most creative version of himself."

He added, "At some point along the way I realized – the only constant in my life keeping me somewhat sane has not been the work, or the men, but the feminine. Thank god for them."
