Tribal leader, two guards ‘shot dead by Katcha dacoits’ in Sadiqabad

RAHIM YAR KHAN: On Tuesday night, three individuals, including a tribal leader, were allegedly killed by Katcha area dacoits in Sadiqabad tehsil, according to a complaint filed by Aftab Ahmed Kosh, a resident of Kot Mir Sahib, Katcha Kashmore. The incident occurred at Yasin Kosh's outhouse, where he, Altaf Ahmed, Yasin, Sardar Alamgir Kosh, and his guards Nazim and Mashooq were present.

After dinner, around 2:10 am, about 11 to 12 armed men, including dacoits Ali Nawaz, Shimloo, Sultan, Abdul Wahab, Ali Hassan, and Allah Warraya, scaled the boundary wall and entered the outhouse. The assailants threatened the men, stating they would be killed if they retaliated. Ali Nawaz, Shimloo, and Sultan entered the room and opened fire on Sardar Alamgir, while others shot his guards Nazim and Mashooq, killing the former and critically injuring the latter.

Both later died from their injuries. The suspects then fled the scene, issuing threats. Aftab claimed in the FIR that the killings were in retaliation for the alleged murders of two Kosh clan members by Sindh police. The Ahmedpur Lama police registered the case under sections 302, 337H(2), 148, and 149 of the Pakistan Penal Code.

Police Superintendent Irfan Ali Sammon announced a heavy crackdown on the suspects' hideouts in the Katcha area, torching many. Locals expressed concern that the murders might escalate tensions in the Katcha area, potentially leading to more violence and a worsening of the law and order situation.
