Tour boat operator discovers decomposing body in suitcase in Sg Perak

KUALA KANGSAR: A tour boat driver made a shocking discovery near the Sayong Bridge today, uncovering a decomposing body entwined in a plastic-wrapped suitcase. The vessel operator noticed the suitcase floating in the shallow waters of Sungai Perak due to reduced water levels. Perak Fire and Rescue Department assistant director Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad reported that five firefighters from the Kuala Kangsar station were dispatched to the scene around 4:24pm following a police alert.

Authorities stated a body had been found in the river, and the firefighters remained on standby as the police forensic team commenced an investigation. By 6:40pm, the forensic unit arrived at the location, while onlookers gathered along the riverbank to witness the retrieval operation. The victim is suspected to be an unidentified woman who had been deceased for several days, as indicated by the advanced decomposition.

The tour boat, known for its 20-minute sightseeing excursions along Sungai Perak in the Kuala Kangsar region, was reportedly aware of the suitcase's presence for several days before its gruesome contents were finally exposed.
