Three vehicles collide at Kusa Junction; one dead, several injured

A fatal road accident occurred at Kusa Junction on the Fomena–Adansi Asokwa road in Ashanti Region, leaving one person dead and several others in critical condition. The collision involved a tipper truck, a Toyota Hiace bus, and a Volkswagen vehicle. Emergency medical services transported the injured victims to Adansi Fomena District Hospital for urgent treatment.

Fomena District Police Commander, DSP Samson Wunyi Mumuni, confirmed the incident following a distress call from witnesses and residents. The police arrived at the scene and attempted to clear the wreckage, but their efforts were complicated when the towing truck, dispatched to remove the damaged vehicles, was also involved in an accident.

This further impeded traffic, causing delays lasting over six hours. Eventually, a second towing vehicle was brought in to aid in clearing the wreckage and restoring traffic flow. Residents and eyewitnesses have expressed concern over the high accident rate at Kusa Junction, attributing it to the road's sharp curve and narrow width.

They have urged authorities to take immediate action to enhance safety measures and prevent future accidents and loss of life in this hazardous area.
