FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- Colts special teams coordinator Brian Mason suffered a severe knee injury during Thursday night's preseason opener against the Patriots. According to a league source, Mason tore multiple knee ligaments on the final play of the game. The extent of his injury and recovery timeline have not been disclosed yet. The Colts have no scheduled practice on Friday, and Indianapolis resumes their practice on Saturday.

Mason was seen on the sideline with the other coaches during the game, reacting to the play as the scrum approached him. Despite trying to evade the players, Mason's knee was rolled upon, causing him to fall to the ground in significant pain.
