Thai-British teenager reports classmate after firecracker attack at home

A 16-year-old Thai-British boy has reported his former classmate to the police after the classmate allegedly threw a lit firecracker into their home in Chon Buri, Thailand. The incident occurred last night, August 13, following a long-standing conflict between the two. The boy's mother, Yothaka, took him to Huai Yai Police Station, where she provided CCTV footage of the alleged incident to the authorities.

The footage showed a teenage boy standing outside the property before throwing the firecracker. The boy and his mother had previously experienced conflicts, including arguments and bullying on social media. The 16-year-old told police he initially did not recognize his former classmate but noticed someone standing outside his home before the explosion.

He said he went to check and later identified the person as a former schoolmate. The boy alleged that his former classmate had previously bullied him, making provocative comments on social media and attempting to start arguments. Huai Yai Police Station Superintendent Warawut Nityawan ordered officers to investigate the scene and examine the evidence provided by the family.

The alleged offender has not been publicly identified or arrested at the time of the report. This incident is part of a growing trend of conflicts and bullying involving teenagers in Thailand. In Chiang Mai, a schoolboy was questioned after sending a threatening message in a LINE group following repeated bullying by classmates. In another case, a student in Khon Kaen accused three to four classmates of bullying and demanding money, leading to legal action from the students' parents.
