Telangana CM Revanth Reddy warns party of 21% voter deletion due to SIR

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy cautioned party officials about a possible loss of 21% of votes during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter rolls. The SIR concluded on August 10th. During a meeting, Reddy held ministers, MLAs, and leaders accountable for not protecting voters from deletion. He tasked them with reviewing assembly and parliamentary constituencies to identify voters at risk and rectify issues before August 17, when the final electoral rolls are to be published.

The Chief Minister demanded that ministers and in-charge ministers hold reviews across districts within two days, prepare reports, and assist voters in enrolling with Form 6 to avoid exclusion from the rolls. The CM emphasized that any non-compliance risks political damage and will face consequences as per AICC directives. About 78% of Telangana's voters participated in the SIR, submitting 2,64,73,616 forms, while 73,52,832 forms went uncollected.

Of the uncollected forms, over 45 lakh are permanently shifted, and more than 11 lakh are absent or untraceable. The Bharat Rashtra Samiti has demanded a full disclosure of data from the Election Commission of India regarding the uncollectable forms.
