Tejashwi doing part-time politics in Bihar: JD(U) leader Sanjay Jha

Patna, JD national working president Sanjay Jha has criticized RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav for what he calls "part-time politics" in Bihar. Jha made the remarks during an interview with reporters in Patna. He accused Yadav of touring foreign countries while student protests were ongoing in Delhi, and only returning after their demands were met.

Jha stated that Yadav's party, the RJD, will now organize a march to the Lok Bhavan on August 19 in protest against the alleged use of an AK-47 by a policeman during a student demonstration in Siwan on July 25. Jha questioned the circumstances surrounding the incident and demanded accountability from both the Bihar government and the central government.

He pointed out that action had already been taken against the accused policeman and questioned the necessity of the march now. The protest in Siwan was part of a larger student-led movement against the NEET paper leak and police action against protesting students. The demonstrations turned violent in several districts of Bihar, including Patna, Saran, Siwan, Aurangabad, Bhagalpur, Sitamarhi, Purnia, and Bhojpur.

Several students were detained after they pelted police personnel with stones and bricks. A police constable was suspended following the incident, though the authenticity of a viral video purportedly showing the constable using an AK-47 during the protest could not be independently verified. Jha urged Yadav to focus on pressing issues in Ranchi, where students are protesting over alleged irregularities in recruitment examinations, and to seek action from the state government to address their demands.
