Students should aspire to serve the nation by joining armed forces: Dharwad DC

Deputy Commissioner Snehal R. addressed students, urging them to aspire to serve the nation through careers in the armed forces, police, and other services. Organizing an exhibition on India's defense system, Snehal emphasized that such events would enhance students' comprehension of the country's defense capabilities and the workings of the armed forces.

She encouraged students to develop an interest in national security and learn about the Centre's Agniveer scheme, which aims to recruit young people into the armed forces. Snehal stressed that the younger generation played a crucial role in the country's development, security, and defense. "Students should never dream small; your dreams should always be as big as possible, and you must work tirelessly to make them a reality," she urged.

Brigadier S.G. Bhagwat highlighted India's advancements in defense production, noting the country's shift from relying on other nations for defense equipment to becoming an exporter of missiles. He stressed the importance of discipline among the youth and called on students to contribute to the nation's development and progress.

Air Commodore C.S. Hawaldar, Commodore Aravind Shiggaon, and Colonel Anup Ralegaonkar also participated in the event. Mahadev Joshi, president of the Karnataka Education Board, stressed the need for students to adopt a spirit of commitment to the nation and be ready to make sacrifices in its service. The exhibition showcased models created by around 350 students from various armed forces branches, offering visitors a comprehensive view of the different military roles in safeguarding the country.

The event drew participation from students and members of the public from numerous schools, colleges, and families.
