Democratic Party lawmakers Chung Sung-ho and Lee Hwa-young have been sued on charges of perjury in a "salmon wine party" case. The prosecution has requested disciplinary action against prosecutors who left the courtroom during the trial.

Former Prosecutor General 정성호 requested disciplinary action against two 수원지검 검사 who walked out of the testimonies of 전 경기도 평화부지사, attributed to her role in a "whiskey party scandal" trial. The Ministry of Justice explained that it had conducted its own inspection, leading to the submission of disciplinary opinions for four 검사. Two 검사 had already submitted their resignations, thus being subject to dismissal, while the remaining two faced direct disciplinary inquiries from the Prosecutor General on the same day.

The Ministry of Justice stated that the disciplinary proceedings would continue according to the Prosecutorial Disciplinary Law. The four 검사, who walked out during the preparation for the trial, had initially been dismissed by the 수원지법 형사11부 when the prosecution's request for witness submission was denied. President 이재명 had ordered the 검사 to reconsider their decision, and a subsequent investigation by the Prosecutor General's office concluded that disciplining the 검사 would be difficult.

However, the Ministry of Justice independently conducted an inspection, and the Prosecutor General's office subsequently determined that disciplinary measures should be taken against the four 검사. 이 전 부지사 was facing accusations of perjury during her testimony at the 2024 national assembly hearing, in which she alleged that the Prosecutor General had been involved in the 'crossover North Korea money transfer' case.

In the criminal case, four out of seven jurors found the Prosecutor General guilty of the charge of giving false testimony. The trial judge upheld the jury's verdict and sentenced her to four months of imprisonment.
