Sourav Ganguly breaks silence over alleged death threats

Former India cricket captain Sourav Ganguly has spoken out about alleged death threats his family has received over the past six months, expressing confidence that the police will address the issue. Ganguly revealed that the matter was already reported to the authorities and that his family has security measures in place. Speaking to reporters on Friday, Ganguly stated, "We have reported it to the police.

I am sure the police will sort it out. The number is from Kolkata. Hopefully, the police will do the needful. I have security."

The allegations came to light when Ganguly and his wife Dona received threatening letters for around six months. The family initially suspected the messages might have originated from fanatical fans. However, as the threats escalated in both frequency and intensity, they decided to involve the police. A formal complaint was filed at the Thakurpukur Police Station in Kolkata.

The complaint detailed numerous threatening letters that the Ganguly family had been receiving, with some of the messages reportedly containing words like 'eliminate' and 'finish'. While Ganguly did not provide further details about the threats or identify any suspects, he emphasized his confidence in the police's ability to handle the situation.
