Sindh CM Murad Ali Shah Says Transporters Will End Strike Soon

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah announced that a deal is nearing completion with goods transporters to bring an end to their ongoing strike. Advocate Muhammed Owais Chaudhry had previously informed ProPakistani that transporters were not near finalizing any agreement with government officials, with the strike now entering its 7th consecutive day.

At the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s (KCCI) 79th Independence Day flag-hoisting ceremony, Shah instructed the provincial transport department to accelerate efforts to resolve the remaining issues and restore regular transport operations. In his remarks to the business community, Shah stated that Pakistan could potentially boost its exports from the current $30 billion to $100 billion by lowering the cost of doing business, enhancing industrial competitiveness, and maximizing the utilization of Sindh’s local energy resources.

He emphasized that while Pakistan had shown its military and diplomatic strength, it needed to achieve similar economic success by fostering cooperation between the government and the private sector.
