Silo Season 3, episode 8: We may finally know how the world ends

Silo Season 3, episode 8 may finally provide answers to the long-awaited question of how the world ends. In the episode, Daniel, Helen, and Charles meet with the creators of the Silo: billionaire Per Stensen and Senator Thurman. Stensen explains that he is constructing 50 silos to repopulate the earth in the event of an apocalypse, caused by nanotechnology.

He reveals that Iran has already built nanoweapons and attempted to disrupt the U.S.'s research, leading to war. The real reason for Charles' mission in episode 1 was to target a nanofacility Iran had built in the mountains, but they were only supposed to be decoys. The cloud that engulfed the planes was Iran's nanoweapon. Stensen, who is knowledgeable in nanotechnology, is the most fearful of it, leading him to build an underground city to save humanity when things go south.

The U.S. and Iran already possess this technology and have used it in devastating ways, suggesting that this invisible weaponry may cause the apocalypse that drives people underground.
