SharpLink Deploys $200M in Ethereum Through Lido to Expand DeFi Yield Strategy

SharpLink Inc., a publicly traded company with a significant Ethereum (ETH) holding, is expanding its decentralized finance (DeFi) yield strategy by allocating an additional $200 million to the liquid staking service provided by Lido. The company plans to stake $200 million worth of ETH through Lido, receiving wrapped staked ETH (wstETH) in return.

This move helps SharpLink maintain exposure to ETH staking rewards while keeping an asset that can be utilized across various DeFi markets. Lido manages approximately $16.5 billion worth of ETH staking through its protocol, and wstETH is integrated into over 100 protocols and currently has around $10 billion in active use as collateral.

SharpLink CEO Joseph Chalom highlighted that this allocation is an expansion of the company's effort to make its ETH holdings even more productive, while still adhering to institutional-grade risk standards. The Lido partnership also enhances SharpLink's treasury diversification and offers access to one of Ethereum's most widely integrated assets within its DeFi ecosystem.

As of August 3, SharpLink held 888,938 ETH, generating $11.2 million in staking revenue during the second quarter. The company is also exploring other avenues for yield generation, such as partnerships with Galaxy Digital and investments tied to Ethereum infrastructure, privacy, and institutional adoption. This Lido allocation further solidifies SharpLink's strategy of managing its treasury as an active on-chain portfolio instead of a passive reserve.

Currently, SharpLink Inc. (NASDAQ: SBET) is trading at $6.32 US per share, and Ethereum (CRYPTO: $ETH) is trading at $1,883.80 US per digital token.
