Seven injured in attack on Balochistan home minister’s convoy in Mastung

A group of suspected terrorists launched an assault on the convoy of Balochistan Home and Tribal Affairs Minister Mir Ziaullah Langau in Mastung on Friday, resulting in injuries to seven individuals, including three Anti-Terrorism Force members. The minister remained unharmed during the attack, which took place in the Kund Umarani area, south of Mastung, as Langau was en route to Quetta following an Independence Day event at the Deputy Commissioner's Office in Kalat.

The wounded were transported to Shaheed Nawab Ghous Bakhsh Raisani Memorial Hospital for medical care. Following the incident, Langau paid a visit to the hospital to check on the injured personnel's well-being. Police reported that officers engaged the assailants for approximately 20 minutes before successfully warding them off.

In a statement, Langau described the attack as "cowardly" and emphasized that such acts would not deter the government or security forces in their fight against terrorism. He stated, "I cannot be intimidated by such firecrackers." The home minister also affirmed that such attacks would not diminish his devotion to Pakistan or his dedication to serving the nation.

Babar Yousafzai, a member of the Home Department, condemned the assault, suggesting that the convoy had been targeted by "Fitna al-Hindustan." He commended the police personnel for their bravery in repelling the attack. Police have initiated a thorough investigation into the incident.
