Saputo to sell U.K. operations to Lactalis for around $1.86 billion

Saputo Inc. has agreed to sell its U.K. dairy operations to Lactalis for approximately $1.86 billion. The deal encompasses five manufacturing facilities and local brands such as Cathedral City, Wensleydale, Davidstow, Clover, and Country Life. Saputo Inc. has generated about $1.2 billion in revenue over the past four quarters, accounting for roughly seven percent of its total revenue.

The company's president and CEO, Carl Colizza, stated that this transaction bolsters its strategic focus and improves financial flexibility as it continues to generate long-term shareholder value through strategic capital allocation. The sale is expected to conclude by the end of the first quarter of 2027, subject to certain conditions, including regulatory approvals.
