Ryt Bank Now Lets You Activate Your Account Via ATMs Or Bank Branches

Ryt Bank, a digital bank in Malaysia, has introduced a new funding option allowing customers to activate their accounts through ATMs and bank branches. This marks the first time a digital bank in the country offers account activation via these channels. To activate an account using an ATM or bank branch, customers must first complete the electronic Know Your Customer (eKYC) process through the Ryt Bank app.

After that, users can log into their account dashboard and select "Add money." From there, they can choose "Use another method" and pick "ATM transfer" or "Visit a bank branch." For ATM activations, users simply insert their card into the machine and select "Transfer," ensuring the account name matches their IC. They then select "Interbank GIRO" and choose "Savings Account."

Next, they are prompted to transfer at least RM1 and select "Ryt Bank." The process concludes with entering their account number. In contrast, bank branches require the user's MyKad. After identifying themselves to a bank officer, they inform the staff of their intention to transfer via Interbank GIRO to Ryt Bank. The staff then guide the customer in filling out their details and have them deposit at least RM1 into the account, after which the activation is complete.

It's important to note that while the minimum transfer amount for account activation is RM1, the actual transfer amount may differ based on the denominations available at the specific ATM or bank branch.
