President John Dramani Mahama has praised the efforts of the Inspector-General of Police and security forces for the notable enhancements in security across the Upper East Region. Speaking at a Resetting Ghana Citizens’ Engagement in Bolgatanga, Mahama highlighted a marked drop in incidents of motorbike snatching, armed robbery, and other criminal activities.
He also expressed satisfaction with the relative tranquility in Bawku, anticipating that ongoing peace would restore its reputation as a key commercial hub, thereby enticing residents who had previously left to return.
Mahama introduced a GH¢1 billion Bawku Revitalisation Fund, with a primary focus on upgrading the region's road network, bridges, and healthcare facilities.
