No Adiala visit without confirmation of meeting, says KP CM Afridi

Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sohail Afridi, announced on Thursday that he would not return to Adiala jail before September 27 without an official confirmation of a meeting with PTI leader Imran Khan. Afridi also demanded the closure of key government offices, claiming they were dysfunctional. Addressing media outside the prison, Afridi stated that the conditions at Adiala suggested the authorities had no intention of permitting him to meet Khan.

He warned that if the meeting was denied, PTI supporters would obstruct roads nationwide at 10 PM on Thursday as part of their "D-Chowk" protest. Afridi urged party members to prepare for the demonstration, which would include carrying flags of national and PTI symbols. He pledged to march to Islamabad with two million supporters on September 27 and called for the public to focus on this date, describing it as a "nightmare" for authorities.

Afridi claimed a large number of supporters had gathered in Khyber district recently and that similar street movements would be launched in other districts, including Bannu on Sunday. Despite the Islamabad High Court ordering the prison administration to arrange meetings with Imran Khan's family and legal representatives on Tuesdays and with party leaders on Thursdays, such orders have not been implemented for months.

Afridi alleged that the court was helpless in this matter, and the only recourse was to hold protests. He also criticized the government for its failure to address the concerns of the populace, stating that even ministers acknowledged the country's paralysis.
