Mothers Against Vaping backs Maliwal's Parliament intervention on vapes, e-cigarettes

Mothers Against Vaping (MAV) has applauded Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal's intervention in Parliament concerning the growing issue of vaping among children and adolescents. MAV, a collective of mothers, works to protect young people from nicotine products like vapes, e-cigarettes, and heated tobacco products. Maliwal highlighted that vapes are being marketed to school children as "safe," "cool," and "harmless" by social media, influencers, and illicit sellers.

She expressed concern that young children are harming their health by considering these products safe. The government's ban on vape sales is commendable, but some suppliers are still reaching children through social media and shopkeepers are covertly distributing them. MAV urged all states to enforce the ban strictly and for schools, parents, police, and local administration to take immediate action against such networks. The collective appreciated Maliwal's efforts in raising awareness about the issue.
