Mother, son killed after fuel tanker crashes onto car in Temerloh

TEMERLOH: A woman and her 12-year-old son perished when a fuel tanker loaded with roughly 32,000 litres of petrol and diesel collided with their vehicle on Jalan Temerloh-Triang near Kampung Lebak. The victims, Nur Fatima Abdullah, 39, and Muhamad Fattah Aisy Nuafal Saifulnizam, 12, were en route from Jerantut to Seremban. Temerloh police assistant commissioner Mohd Nasyim Bahron reported the accident occurred around 4pm.

The tanker, en route from Bera to Temerloh, lost control and overturned onto the car. The collision sparked fires in both vehicles, resulting in the mother and son's deaths. While the family provided statements to the police, DNA tests are required to confirm their identities. The 37-year-old tanker driver sustained minor injuries.

The bodies were transported to Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Hospital for further procedures. Pahang Fire and Rescue Department confirmed the incident at 4.08pm, with 11 personnel rushed to the scene. They battled the blaze for over two hours before extinguishing it.
