Los aranceles hunden en 60.000 millones las exportaciones europeas a EEUU

Between January and June, the European Union's sales of goods to the United States plummeted by 19.8% to €246.196 million, while the bloc's surplus fell below half. The Trump administration has turned its trade policy into a geopolitical weapon, and Europe and its economy are losing the battle. One year after the EU-US trade deal's entry into force – disastrous for European interests and always tense and insecure due to Trump's continuous threats – the community is paying a hefty bill.

Despite a 10.8% increase in European goods exports to the US in June to €45.674 million, the first half of the year's balance is heavily negative. Between January and June, the EU exported goods to the US worth €246.196 million, 60.950 million euros less than the same period last year, a 19.8% plunge according to European statistical office data.

While the comparison is conditioned by the strong anticipation of purchases American companies made in the first quarter of 2025 to beat the looming tariff storm Trump announced, with a March buyer peak exceeding €71.586 million, the EU's trade deterioration is evident.
