Clancy, 36, is accused of murdering her three young children - 5-year-old Cora, 3-year-old Dawson, and 8-month-old Callan - in January 2023. Prosecutors allege that Clancy used exercise bands to strangle them in their Duxbury home while her husband was away.

Clancy's defense argues that her mental illness, including postpartum depression and psychosis, made her incapable of criminal responsibility. She suffered a paralysis after jumping from a second-story window on the night of the murders. The trial resumed after a brief adjournment on Friday, August 13, as Judge Sullivan welcomed the jury and clarified the court's schedule.

The upcoming Monday, August 17, will be the first day the jury returns for proceedings. Testimonies from police officers, first responders, medical professionals, and Clancy's family and friends have been presented so far. Clancy's lawyer has requested certain facts be stipulated in evidence, reducing the need for some witnesses to testify. The jury, comprising 18 members with six alternates, is expected to deliberate beginning Monday.
