Limpopo man sentenced to life for dragging 7-year-old girl into the bushes and raping her

A 33-year-old man from Pulaneng Village, Limpopo, has been sentenced to life imprisonment for raping a 7-year-old girl after confronting her and her friends as they walked home from school. The incident took place on January 8, 2024, when Malatji, 33, dragged the victim into the bushes and committed the act. Her friends alerted family members, who reported the crime to the local police.

Constable Terry Ngobeni successfully arrested Malatji on January 10, 2024. Limpopo's provincial police commissioner commended the officer's diligence and emphasized that the sentence sends a strong message against gender-based violence.
