The delegation's visit ensues Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's assertion that Israel does not concur with the Board of Peace's disarming plan for Hamas, potentially leading to a clash with President Trump.

The Board of Peace official reassured that the U.S. and Israel share the ultimate goal of a demilitarized Hamas. They are prepared to listen to concerns and discuss subsequent actions. The critical aspect, the official emphasized, is that both sides agree on the desired outcome and strive to expedite progress.

In Egypt, discussions are scheduled with Egyptians and other mediators to finalize the next stages of the roadmap implementation. A US official confirmed that the "such a trip is being discussed," adding that the U.S. and Israel concur on the desired Gaza outcome. They share numerous mutual concerns that they will address collectively.

Hamas official Ghazi Hamad, involved in the negotiations, described the Board of Peace's proposal as a "comprehensive framework" that extends beyond disarmament and relies on Israel's implementation of the first phase of an agreement reached last year in Egypt. Netanyahu, however, insisted that Israel would maintain its presence in Gaza until Hamas is fully disarmed. Israel remains in control of most of the territory, despite a ceasefire in October last year.
