Kuehne Nagel expands Cambodian logistics capacity with new facility

Phnom Penh, Cambodia - Kuehne+Nagel has bolstered its logistics capabilities in Cambodia by constructing a new Container Freight Station (CFS) in the capital city, with operational readiness planned for June 2027. The facility will encompass over 20,000 square meters of warehouse space, designed to accommodate expanding trade volumes and streamline cargo movement within Cambodia and the broader region.

Cambodia's trade infrastructure is continually upgrading, with the Phnom Penh Autonomous Port handling approximately 600,000 TEUs and the Sihanoukville Autonomous Port managing around 1.3 million TEUs in 2025. This new CFS complements these developments, offering a strategic location near vital transport hubs such as the Phnom Penh International Airport and cross-border road links connecting to Thailand and Vietnam, thereby facilitating smoother cargo flow across the nation and bolstering regional logistics operations.

David Roussiere, Managing Director of Kuehne+Nagel's operations in Thailand, Cambodia, and Myanmar, remarked: "This investment will more than triple our CFS capacity in Cambodia, significantly enhancing our logistics capabilities in the country. With direct access to key transportation gateways and regional trade corridors, this facility will empower customers in the consumer goods sector as they navigate evolving supply chains and capitalize on burgeoning trade opportunities throughout the region."

Tailored for efficient cargo consolidation and handling operations, the new CFS boasts a raised-floor warehouse featuring loading doors and dock levellers. It is equipped to handle a floor loading capacity of five tonnes per square meter and is slated to achieve ISO 9001, ISO 45001, and ISO 14001 certifications. The facility additionally integrates eco-friendly features, such as solar panels, skylight roofing, LED lighting, battery-operated forklifts, water infiltration systems, and rainwater management infrastructure.
