Kalyan Congress Holds Protest Against BJP-RSS Over Alleged Caste Discrimination Incident

Kalyan City District Congress Committee held a protest in Kalyan on Friday, criticizing the BJP and RSS for an alleged incident of caste discrimination. The protest took place at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Chowk following a public meeting by Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge in Haldwani, Uttarakhand. Workers performed a milk abhishek on Kharge's portrait, demanding legal action against those responsible for the alleged incident.

The protesters condemned the "Manuwadi" ideology of the BJP and RSS, reaffirming their commitment to social equality, fraternity, and constitutional values. Party workers then took to the streets, marching from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Chowk to Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Udyan, where they paid floral tributes to Dr B R Ambedkar. The party submitted a memorandum at the Kalyan Tehsil office, requesting an impartial inquiry into the alleged incident in Haldwani and demanding identification and punishment of those responsible under the relevant laws.

Adv. Naveen Singh, president of the Kalyan City District Congress Committee, emphasized the party's opposition to caste discrimination and inequality, vowing to uphold the principles of social justice and equality.
