Nigeria's Junior YellowGreens shattered the tournament record in the ICC U19 Men’s Cricket World Cup Africa Qualifier Division 2, defeating Mozambique U19 by 407 runs at the IPRC Oval in Kigali. The hosts posted a tournament-high 461/6 in 50 overs, built by four key batters who contributed 385 runs combined: Hossana Omonkhobhio, Ali Rahmon, Peculiar Egemasi, and Bright Nyong.

Mozambique were bowled out for 54 in just 23 overs, resulting in a lopsided victory for Nigeria. Captain Ali Rahmon played a crucial role with a composed 41 off 46 balls, including eight boundaries, helping Nigeria build momentum. Hossana Omonkhobhio led the batting charge with an impressive 84 off 73 balls, followed by Peculiar Egemasi's explosive century of 123 off 84 balls.

Bright Nyong then turned an already imposing total into a record-breaking one, scoring an unbeaten 137 off 53 balls, including an astonishing 12 sixes. The combined efforts of the four batters accounted for more than 83% of Nigeria's total. Mozambique's chase fell apart under sustained pressure, with Nigeria dismissing them for just 54 in 23 overs.
