JI urges students to play role in making country better

Karachi witnessed an 'Azadi Fiesta' at the University of Karachi, organized by Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi chief Monem Zafar on Independence Day. Zafar questioned whether Pakistan had merely replaced British rule with the dominance of feudal lords, landlords, and capitalists. He urged the youth to not succumb to despair and emphasized the importance of fulfilling the responsibilities for which Pakistan was created.

The nation was formed following a long struggle by the Muslims of the subcontinent, leading to the reality of Allama Iqbal's vision on August 14, 1947, under the leadership of Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. Zafar highlighted the blessings Pakistan received, including rivers, seas, mountains, forests, and abundant mineral and natural resources, proclaiming the country as the first nuclear power in the Muslim world.

He stressed that Pakistan's security, development, and progress were the shared responsibility of all citizens, particularly the youth. Zafar called upon the youth not to lose hope, stressing that the country's bright future could be ensured through individual responsibility, hard work, and commitment to national development. The Pakistan flag was raised during the ceremony, with MPA Farooq Farhan, Gulshan Town Chairman Dr Fawad, and Islami Jamiat Talaba University of Karachi chapter chief Huzaifa Siddiqui also addressing the event.
