JI urges students to contribute to the nation’s improvement

Karachi: Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi chief Monem Zafar posed a thought-provoking question at an Independence Day celebration, questioning whether Pakistan had merely replaced British rule with the dominance of feudal lords, landlords, and capitalists. The 75-year-old nation, founded on the principles of the Kalma-e-Tayyaba, needed to reflect on whether it had lived up to its purpose, Zafar asserted while addressing students and young people at the University of Karachi.

Zafar reminded the audience that the country's creation was a result of a prolonged struggle by Muslims of the subcontinent, culminating in the dreams of Allama Iqbal coming to fruition on August 14, 1947, under the leadership of the Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. Emphasizing Pakistan's unique position as the first nuclear power in the Muslim world and its abundant natural resources, Zafar urged the youth to not succumb to despair and instead play their role in enhancing the nation through their abilities, character, and hard work.

Pakistan's future, Zafar declared with confidence, was not only bright yesterday but also remains bright today, and it could be secured through individual responsibility, diligent effort, and a commitment to national development. The ceremony saw the hoisting of the Pakistan flag, with Monem Zafar accompanied by MPA Farooq Farhan and Gulshan Town Chairman Dr Fawad, along with the Islami Jamiat Talaba University of Karachi chapter chief, Huzaifa Siddiqui.
