Jared Kushner to visit Israel and Egypt next week with Board of Peace officials to talk Gaza

President Donald Trump’s son-in-law and negotiator Jared Kushner will journey to Israel and Egypt next week to discuss plans for ending the Gaza conflict, according to an official with the Board of Peace. The group, which includes board high representative Nickolay Mladenov and executive board member Tony Blair, will meet with a Palestinian technocratic group overseeing Gaza's reconstruction.

The trip comes after a deal recently announced by the Trump administration faced Israeli opposition. Israel has dismissed the deal, which calls for Hamas to disarm and Israel to withdraw forces from Gaza. The group's visit aims to demonstrate the U.S. commitment to "peace, prosperity, and sustainable security" in the demilitarized territory.
