Jan Paul van Hecke Siblings: Meet the Siblings Squad Behind the Dutch Footballer

Jan Paul van Hecke is a Dutch professional footballer, born on June 8, 2000, in Arnemuiden, Zeeland. Recognized for his physical strength, aerial ability, and strong passing, he plays as a defender in the English Premier League, currently for Tottenham Hotspur. Jan Paul is the nephew of Jan Poortvliet, who played in the 1978 World Cup final.

He hails from a family deeply rooted in football, with his three siblings: Guus, Klaas, and Huib, all of whom grew up playing the game under their father’s influence. Van Hecke's siblings have also made their mark in football, with Guus continuing to play for VV Arnemuiden and organize support for his nephews at matches, Klaas having played youth football for NAC Breda and amateur VV Goes, and Huib staying active at amateur levels with Arnemuiden or related clubs.

The three younger brothers have faced top Dutch academies like Feyenoord, PSV, and Ajax during their youth careers. Van Hecke started his youth career with VV Arnemuiden, progressing through JVOZ and VV Goes before joining NAC Breda. He moved to Brighton & Hove Albion in 2020, initially on loan and then permanently, where he became a regular starter and earned the club’s Player of the Year in 2024-25.

At international level, he has represented the Netherlands under-21s and the senior team, scoring his first goal for the national team during the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
