Is Namecheap still down? Web hosting company says ‘we failed you’ as users express frustration

Namecheap, a prominent web hosting provider, experienced a significant outage that impacted its services worldwide for several hours. The company disclosed the issue was due to a failure in cooling systems at its data center in Phoenix, leading to the temporary unavailability of hosting plans, EasyWP, DNS, and email services. The recovery process took around 15 hours, during which users could not access Namecheap's email, account management, and other services.

Namecheap kept users informed through frequent updates on its status page, with issues initially appearing around 12 PM EDT. The core databases were restored around 5:30 PM EDT, followed by another 40-minute wait for the website to become operational again. The company's support team was also affected, leaving many customers frustrated due to delayed responses via live chat and emails.

Namecheap CEO Hillan Klein publicly acknowledged the failure, vowing to maintain transparency about the incident's cause, response, and future improvements.
