Insecurity: PDP Youth Demand Action Plan After Rescue Operations In Kwara

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) youth wing in Kwara State has called for a comprehensive security plan after a series of recent rescue operations. Daily Trust reports that the demand follows the release of residents from Woro and Nuku communities and urges the government to take action to prevent future attacks. The PDP youth leader, Adio Friday Odunjo, emphasized that rescue operations should be followed by measures like rehabilitation and prevention to avoid similar tragedies.

The youth group has expressed concerns over the educational disruption caused by insecurity, citing the closure of the State School of Nursing, Oke Ode, and the relocation of the NYSC orientation camp. They also highlighted the merger of multiple schools for NECO examinations, which they see as evidence of the broader impact of insecurity on education.

Odunjo stressed that every institution affected by security threats should have a clearly defined recovery plan, including safe reopening strategies. The youth leader called for responsible leadership, accountability, and coordinated action between the state government and federal security agencies. The PDP youth also connected the security challenge to youth unemployment, urging the government to create job opportunities for young people.
