New Delhi: India's digital logistics tracking platform, the Logistics Data Bank (LDB), has crossed a significant milestone by tracking 10 crore export-import (EXIM) containers since its inception in 2016. Union Minister of Commerce & Industry Piyush Goyal highlighted the platform's role in modernizing supply chains, emphasizing the importance of technology in making logistics simpler, faster, and more efficient.
The LDB uses Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology to monitor 100 per cent of India's EXIM container movement across 19 ports, 32 container terminals, 103 Inland Container Depots, 439 Container Freight Stations, and other logistics infrastructure. The platform has drawn recognition in the World Bank's Logistics Performance Index and continues to evolve with the integration of new technologies to meet the changing needs of India's logistics sector.
