IASO Biotechnology acquires Singapore cell therapy firm MediSix Therapeutics

NANJING, China, SHANGHAI and SINGAPORE, Aug. 13, 2026 - IASO Biotechnology has finalized its acquisition of Singapore-based immune cell engineering firm MediSix Therapeutics, a move that bolsters the Chinese company's global R&D and commercialization efforts in cell therapy. IASO Bio, founded in 2016, will leverage MediSix's T-cell engineering platform, R&D pipeline, and international talent to enhance its capabilities and bring innovative cell therapy products to market more rapidly.

Founded in 2016, MediSix has been backed by investors such as ClavystBio, Lightstone Ventures, Osage University Partners, and Economic Development Board of Singapore, and operates a robust R&D infrastructure and international collaboration system. MediSix's core technology, the PEBL platform, can specifically block the expression of target proteins on cell surfaces, reducing fratricide among CAR-T cells and enabling the targeting of shared antigens between T cells and target cells.

The company has developed a differentiated pipeline, with its lead programme IASO107 currently undergoing clinical evaluation. The acquisition marks a significant milestone in IASO Bio's globalization strategy, as it combines MediSix's unique technology platform with the Chinese company's cell therapy, manufacturing, and commercialization capabilities.
