LinkedIn is renowned as a platform connecting potential employees with prospective employers, but it is also an ideal venue for showcasing snarky, informative, or profound statements. Daily creation of such content can be daunting, which is why AI, specifically CringeBot 3000, exists to assist. This delightful little AI tool, driven more by snark than genuine intent to help, aids users in becoming the insightful sages they aspire to be.

The process is straightforward: input a topic, up to 250 characters, which can range from a random thought to a movie quote or overarching theme, select one of eight "cringe styles," and hit "Generate Post." CringeBot 3000 will then produce a fresh and often humorous perspective. While not suitable for serious content, it can certainly provide a good laugh in the mornings or inspire creative thinking.

Although it can be compared to other chatbots like ChatGPT, CringeBot 3000 simplifies the process and adds an element of entertainment. There are numerous other exciting new AI applications and services available, including chatbots like ChatGPT. OpenAI recently introduced a dedicated desktop app for Linux users, available in preview.

This app allows access to ChatGPT, the workplace tool ChatGPT Work, and the coding assistant Codex without the need for a browser. It is currently compatible with Ubuntu, Debian, and Fedora, among their various flavors, although it requires newer versions of these environments. For those who struggle with selecting movies or TV series on Friday evenings, Coming Attractions is an AI tool that can help. It serves as a random movie and TV show selector across major streaming services. Simply choose a genre, click "Tonight's feature," and the tool will highlight content that matches your preferences. There is also an option to filter by popular content if you prefer watching what everyone else is watching.

Unfortunately, Coming Attractions currently lacks a native Android app, though it is available online via a button or as an iOS app. Additionally, I highly recommend Plain News, another AI-driven news tool that I have found particularly useful. While previously covering Kagi News, which consolidates multiple sources into a single comprehensive news stream, Plain News offers a cleaner and more user-friendly alternative.

Its About page explains that Plain is designed for individuals who find news to be overwhelming. It provides a clean design, no ads, no tracking, and no noise, focusing solely on the most important stories of the hour, presented in a clear and easy-to-read format. News on the site is updated hourly from wire feeds and other primary sources, with an AI editorial engine selecting the most pertinent stories to display.

The engine then rewrites the news to include all essential information and presents it on a visually appealing grid layout. Clicking on a story box expands it, providing further details.
