Hyundai Launches Mobile Healthcare Demo in Indonesia

Hyundai Motor Group is preparing to unveil a mobile healthcare demonstration using specially designed vehicles in an Indonesian smart city. The company showcased a medical vehicle at the Indonesia International Auto Show, a modified Kia PV5 Cargo Long model, equipped for on-the-go medical treatment and health checkups. The vehicle boasts a foldable bed for patients, a medical chair, and equipment for electrocardiogram testing.

A key feature is the V2L function, allowing power supply for medical devices irrespective of location. This demonstration is set to launch in BSD City, a smart city in Jakarta, in late 2023. Hyundai Motor Group has teamed up with local urban development firm Sinar Mas Land and general hospital corporation Eka Hospital for this initiative.

BSD City, grappling with concentrated medical facilities and limited accessibility, is identified as an area with high demand for mobile healthcare services. Under the partnership, Hyundai will manage the PV5 vehicles and service operations, Sinar Mas Land will establish necessary infrastructure, and Eka Hospital will deliver medical services.

The goal is to improve local residents' medical convenience and refine the smart city service model. The success of this project in Indonesia will pave the way for future expansion into other ASEAN countries. Hyundai Motor Group's Vice President and Head of Future Strategy Division, Chung Ho-geun, highlighted Indonesia's strategic role in the ASEAN market and the intention to promote the smart city business through local collaborations.

Eka Hospital Group CEO, Rina Setiawati, viewed this collaboration as a catalyst for the Indonesian automotive industry and healthcare, offering tangible benefits to the public.
