The US Department of Labor's inspector general is intensifying its investigation into H-1B visa fraud with field checks in the Dallas area. Inspector General Anthony P. D'Esposito visited Dallas this week as part of a nationwide probe into suspected fraud involving the foreign-worker visa program. The investigation includes door-to-door inquiries at a multi-story building housing numerous businesses linked to over 500 approved H-1B applications.

While the OIG did not explicitly claim all the companies or petitions were fraudulent, it emphasized the checks as part of an ongoing investigation into potential abuse of the foreign labor system. The field checks form a more visible phase of the Labor Department inspector general's broader effort to identify possible H-1B fraud and other abuses involving foreign-worker programs.

The OIG focused on paperwork and the integrity of the immigration system, sending a clear message that fraud in foreign labor programs will not be tolerated. The investigation is being pursued in coordination with President Trump and Vice President JD Vance's White House Task Force to Eliminate Fraud. The DOL OIG encourages people to report suspected wrongdoing through its hotline.
