Google Meet can finally take notes for your in-person meetings

Google has introduced a new feature that allows Google Meet to take notes during in-person meetings, eliminating the need for users to manually jot down important points. The feature, unveiled at Google Cloud Next 2026, enables recording of meetings while Gemini, Google's AI assistant, listens and captures the conversation. After the meeting, users can generate a summary, list of action items, and transcript within a new Google Doc, which is saved to their Google Drive.

The feature is accessible via a button on the Meet home screen, and the transcript can be accessed via email. Android users can expect the feature by August 11, while web users will get it on August 14, and iOS users may have to wait until August 31. The rollout is available to various Google plans, including Business Standard, Plus, Enterprise Standard, Plus, Google AI Pro, Ultra, and Frontline Plus users.
