Fox News Polls Show Democrats Chances of Beating GOP to Flip Senate: Map

Recent Fox News polls suggest that Democrats have a better chance of flipping the Senate majority in the upcoming midterm elections. With a net gain of four seats, Democrats could secure control even if they lose Michigan. According to the polls, Democratic candidates are leading in six key battleground states: Georgia, North Carolina, Ohio, Iowa, Texas, and Maine.

Despite these leads, experts warn that several of these states have historically leaned Republican, and polls are not definitive predictors of election outcomes. Still, Democrats are encouraged by the overall landscape, as recent polling has shown more favorable results for Republicans, who currently hold a 53-47 majority. Factors such as President Donald Trump's declining approval rating and ongoing tensions with Iran may sway voters in favor of Democratic candidates.

The Georgia Senate race, featuring Democratic nominee Jon Ossoff against Republican incumbent Mike Collins, is particularly crucial. Ossoff, elected in January 2021, narrowly defeated Collins in a runoff election. Recent Fox News polling shows Ossoff with a 56 percent lead over Collins' 43 percent. Similarly, in North Carolina, Democratic former Governor Roy Cooper is facing Republican Michael Whatley.

Cooper, who has high name recognition, is seen as a strong contender, with recent Fox News polling giving him a 9-point lead over Whatley. Ohio's special election, where Republican Senator Jon Husted is running against former Senator Sherrod Brown, is another closely watched race. Brown is making a comeback bid, while Husted, appointed by Governor Mike DeWine, is seeking to retain the seat.

Trump carried Ohio by about 11 percentage points in 2024, making this race pivotal for Senate control.
