Ehsan organises ‘Our Summer is a Blessing’ programme for senior women

In Doha, the Centre for Empowerment and Care of the Elderly, or Ehsan, organized a summer initiative called "Our Summer is a Blessing" (Sayfna Baraka) for senior women. The program aimed to boost their engagement with the community, enhance life quality, and keep them active in society.

The summer programme offered a mix of learning, fun, exploration, and socializing. It encouraged participants to try new things, visit various places, and interact with their surroundings. They enjoyed activities like a tourism exploration, learning about national heritage, experiencing aviation and smart travel, and various workshops and recreational sessions.

Experts from the Hamad Medical Corporation provided lectures on healthy eating. Participants also got hands-on experience with practical sessions, such as making summer drinks with Cup of Joe. They had enjoyable social events and field trips.

Ehsan partnered with numerous organizations, including the Qatar National Archives, Hamad International Airport, Mada Assistive Technology Centre, the Ministry of Interior, Doha Bus, and others. These collaborations let participants explore cultural landmarks, gain digital skills for government and medical services, and witness modern developments in Qatar.

The program was tailored to suit the interests of senior women, fostering interaction, communication, and sharing experiences. It aimed to break the monotony of daily life and create fresh memories.

The initiative reflects Ehsan's continuous effort to launch high-quality programs that cater to the social, cultural, and health needs of older individuals. By doing so, they maintain their mission of empowering senior citizens, fostering intergenerational communication, and ensuring their continued valued and active role in Qatari society.
